    Promotion

    I got promoted today to a Lead Artist Position at my company. When I was hired in March, about a week into the job, this position was offered to me unofficially just to see how I do, but today its been finalized in all the departments including financial. :D

    It’s a stressful job, but I enjoy it a lot. I spend half of my day in meetings, troubleshooting technical problems, making decisions about direction of the project, helping and training others and so on. One thing is for sure… it takes more then just technical skills to do this.

    Anyhow. It gets me closer to my goal of being an Art Director.
    This brings me to a question for you.
    What are your goals in life? Short and Long Term ones.

    been there done that..
    I have LLC as a side job. did a lot of business last year when i was out of job. its basically a good thing to fall on. this way, i have no gaps in between jobs for my resume as well

    hm... my short/long term goals?

    short: get a job as a bar tender, become atleast half as good at bartending as i am at 3d modelling and such.

    Long: just want to be in Europe really, bartending 3d modelling, wateva...

    Well goals... In long and short term I want to publish my own comics books under my own comic book brand.

    Short-Terms :

    - get a part-time job for the summer :S its hard since i need experience but we'll see :)

    - upgrade my skills in 3ds max and photoshop to your standards and to a professional's standard

    -add more deviantions to my deviant account and get back up and running during the summer

    -work on my summer project using an engine ive found :P

    Long-Term:

    -get into the games industry as a Concept Artist/Games Designer during my placement year

    -complete my uni course in games design

    -develop my game idea for a demo reel

    -produce a 3d modelling/animation animation reel

    -re-create my e-portfolio to the skills ive developed

    -play more fighting games/beat 'em' ups and become a pro xD
