Artist's Comments

This is a recreation of a famous M.C.Escher painting called "Relativity". Unlike a painting it’s 3-Dimensional. Modeled, textured and lighted in Maya 5. It almost identical except for some minor details that could not be there coz the model was build using only NURBS... and there are limits with them. No polygons in this model all.

This is my first shading and lighting project in Maya.
Right now I am adding little characters and other small details. Will submit result shortly.

i have like ten of his posters.

very nice recreation. everything is there except from the figures of course. maybe if you got poser you could try to put them in too

Yea. This one is very possible. I actually saw a LEGO version of it. Pretty tight. I am thinking of recreating this with sculpy(clay).

And yes even those impossible ones are possible in 3D coz its all about how you see it.

Yep. I actually got the book and as I mentioned in a description, I am working on putting people in and also changing the texture to B&W.

Love Escher too... After this I am planning to recreate one of the impossible ones.

That is definitely interesting to loom at... I imagine it would be hard to create that sort of thing with a program based on logic. So, which impossible building are you going to try? 'Ascending and Descending'? 'Waterfall'? 'Belvedere'?

Well... I do not deny the fact that it was a bitch to create this, but not because of the logic based program. U see this peace is not an impossible one. Means it can really be. The reason it was hard is coz it had to be made out of NURBS... it almost made it impossible. Well for a beginner I guess.... thanks again.
