From the results of the poll it looks like most people like to see fighting animations. While robots were #3 on the list... so here is a fighting robot animation. My process just like before, all modeling and animation is done in Maya, post production rendering is done in Flash, but its really not flash made animation, but because flash is the only category that allows flash format files I continue to submit into flash. I informed DA about this issue many many times... but nobody seem to care.

Credits as always:
Cain modeling and both character animation is by me
While rigging was done by Steven Kalinovski (Cain) and Mike Calvin (Red)

Enjoy and check out my previous works on Robocop Models

I originally saw the Robocop movie in theaters a long time ago when I was about 15 and Cain scared the crap out of me. I had nightmares for a long time. :(

I was 10 when I first saw it, but it disturbed me more than it did give me nightmares.

I am one the first 20 members of DAFilm... but I just don't like the interface. I like to submit animated previews of the work and film section doesn't allow that.

If you watch closely, it looks as if Red is being grabbed before Cain so much as touches it. Otherwise, its very well done

well. he grabs him in mid air. during a jump forward! that's maybe how you can get the illusion of that...its been a while since I made it, but I remember to not to have any secondary movements until the grab..

it just looked a little like Reds body jerked forward before contact. I could be wrong, but thats what it looked like

The rendering is awesome! The foot sliding when blue gets pushed back kind of bothers me even though I can see some definite weight shift. There's also a little sliding when red gets up that you might want to tweak.

Overall great job! I'm more of a modeler myself, but I've experimented with animating and have a few short scenes I'm trying to work on. I know how much of a pain it can be to get body parts to stick like they should!

when Red gets up his right leg does this turn to the right for one frame. I already fixed it in the version I am working in now...

I modeled ed209(bigger robot) and animated both models. Rigging was done by Steven Kalinovski

Ah, can't wait to see a finished version! You other animations are really nice!

I got a question. How do you do those cartoon style renders? Is that Maya's toon shaders or something you developed on your own?

I'm thinking of trying to do something like it for my own characters, but rendering was always such a pain for me to get right.

OMG!!! Im a huge robocop fan(who isnt, can kiss my ass!), and THIS masterpiece is ridiculously well done:D The robots look so good they could be thought in a game or something like thatXD(would love to see robocain with these details in a game if you or someone with your permission used these, or their own animationsXD) Though i have seen robocain in mugen its nothing compared to what this could do. I applaud you! You have earned it;D

I gotta give you credit: I'm amazed that you got these compex animations down, and even though being in 3D helps in the setup, that has to require a lot of detailing and proper positioning for the rendered machines to make this thing work.

Alright, let me say it one more time:

By "form", I meant to construct, set up, or lay out the entire animation process. In other words, what I was asking was about how you set up the entire segment with the dueling machines.
